Elopements are getting more and more popular, and it is something that I love to photograph. That is why I was so happy when Maryanne and Svein asked me if I wanted to be their elopement photographer in Berlin. When you are the only person sharing those wonderful moments with the couple, the experience is magnified. It is you, hidden behind your camera, the only person witnessing  so many unforgettable moments.

Maryanne and Svein come from Norway. They wanted to live this experience only the two of them, an intimate experience. Then, one day, making a big party with their family and friends. They were making jokes about the “capability” of the Norwegians to show emotions. I was joking with them and told them that I would die to see one of those Norwegian’s tears.

The day began at their home, in the alternative neighborhood of Neukölln. There I realized that we share a very similar music taste. And that is something that I love when it happens with my couples because music is so important in my life!! The day started with Whitest Boy Alive, Nick Cave, Radiohead…I couldn’t ask for more. I asked them if they wanted to write their vowes and to read them at the end of the day, after having spent already some time together, when they can be more relaxed in front of the camera and the emotions are flowing more easily. After the ceremony, we did some pictures in the park and in the streets of Berlin. We finished our trip on a Rooftop where they read their vows. Maryanne saw Svein’s tears for the very first time. She said she has never seen him crying in the ten they have been together. They said they will never forget that moment. Me neither..
